La’álí-i Maknúnih
Some portion of this book is devoted to the description of the lives of four brothers from Kashan. Each one of these brothers followed a different path. One of them was Hájí Mírzá Jání who was a merchant, was very much involved in the affairs of the new Revelation until at last was martyred in 1852. The second brother, by the name Hájí Muhammad Ismá‘íl, survived the holocaust of 1852 and lived to witnessed the manifestation of the Promised One of the Bayán, became a staunch and avowed believer of the Cause of God and much active participant in its promotion; because of this, he was imprisoned several times. The third brother, called Hájí Ahmad, lived in Baghdad in the 1850’s and became attracted to Mírzá Yahyá and affiliated himself with him. He received a famous Tablet from Baha’u’llah revealed entirely in Persian and for the sake of his guidance. Commentary on this Tablet forms a substantial part of this book. The forth brother remained unaffected by the revelations of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh. Because of the involvement of Hájí A?hmad with Mírzá Yahyá, some part of the book is devoted to his activities and the activities of his supporters. Major themes of the Tablet have been discussed in this book.
